Raised Beds Garden – Salad Box
This is my salad box. This is one of nine raised bed boxes that we grow all our vegetables and a few strawberries in. This box is special because we added a lot of sand to the box for our root vegetables. In this box I have green onions, thyme, lettuce, carrots, beets, some marigolds, and garlic. This is my favorite box because I like to graze in the garden and I can pick a sweet little carrot and some lettuce leaves. The garlic is from a clove we planted last year so it should be even better this year. You can also see in the picture our watering head. We took the existing sprinkler heads that were for grass and converted them to drip heads. The lines that actually water the plants are laser drilled drip line from Sprinkler World.
Hello Lindsay,
It could be a watering issue. I have a watering system and right now I am watering every 3 days at 6:00am for 15 minutes. I do not water every day because I want the soil to dry out a little between waterings. I may move it to every 2 days, but right now everything is doing well. A little brown on the tips of the older leaves is common. Email me a picture nancy at phoenixgardening.com.
Happy Gardening!!
Nancy
